Fitness is a Great Path to Happiness among all the things in life we search to make us happy. We often look to extremes when something is at our door step. Fitness greatly improves our lifestyle and without us realizing, it often transforms our perspective into great gratitude.

Fitness is a path to health and they go hand in hand. They lead to feeling better and then to feeling great. There is a different energy that flows from our body when we are feeling great. We can’t help but be happy, but even more that that, we are grateful we found this path/secret.

fitness is a path to happiness

The Basics of Getting Fit and Happy

I have always been an exerciser. When I was young, I didn’t much watch what I ate. When I hit my 30’s and in the midst of working long hours to raised a family and eating to satisfy my hunger, I put on weight. While attending the gym several days a week, it occurred to me my diet was leading to weight gain .

I decided at 225 pounds, I wanted to be at my high school graduation weight of 175 pounds. I was patient and took 4 years to hit that goal. More recently, after my pandemic weight hit 202, I was less patient and lost 25 pound in 90 days. I know how to lose weight.

On the first path, I found that I was transitioning from addictions and fatty foods to more natural foods. I started losing weight quickly. I continued my several days in the gym and a few days hiking or mountain biking. In the process, I realized that I was feeling better and better. The path was obvious. Eat healthy and get fit and Nature rewards us.

I started to feel great gratitude for the fact that everything we need to feel like we want is readily available on earth. Nature is not hiding anything. As I felt better, I wanted others to find this path. I started to blog and soon had 25,000 monthly followers. Evidently I was not along.

Some Easy to Follow Secrets

Strangely, they should not be secrets. What has led us down the wrong path is city life. We work long hours for a pay check and eat what is convenient or a rational for our suffering. When we start monitoring what we eat and get our bodies moving, feeling better comes easier than the effort to punish ourselves with bad habits; sugar, alcohol, carbohydrates, drugs.

We need some discipline. We need to eliminate the bad habits one at a time. We need to up our conditioning. Sedentary can begin with walking ten minutes a day and build it to an hour 5 days a week. Adding some weights helps our muscles absorb the carbs that were flowing straight to fat.

As I dropped to 200 pounds, my ability to exercise increased. My desire to increase my intensity of exercise increased. It is a wonder what progress does to our mind. It gets on board and stops trying to sabotage our efforts. At a point, our mind starts screaming at us when we think of something not healthy and off our path.

This is a path of happiness. We feel great. We look great. People respect people that have the discipline to get fit. We look fit. We have energy. We now have discipline. We now know we could accomplish anything we set our mind to because we can control our mind. We are the masters of our lives. There is a lot of happiness in that.
